GDI Units in C&C3:TW

s

Armored Personel Carrier (APC)

The Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) transports and protects troops heading to and from battle locations. Its heavy armor, fast speed, and long sight range make it an ideal scouting unit. It is also useful for crushing infantry.

s

Commando

Like in previous C&C games, the Commando is one of the toughest GDI units. Better watch out for this one; it can destroy entire buildings with just one click. Commando also carries an assault rifle with suppressor that is able to take out infantry units from extreme range. You can have just one of these at a time.

s

Engineer

Engineers are not only able to capture enemy buildings and repair friendly structures, but also take over destroyed enemy vehicles.

s

Firehawk

This is a fast attack bomber that serves as a nice support unit to Orcas. It can be upgraded with rocket boosters that allow it to shoot up into the stratosphere and glide back down again. It has light armor.

s

Grenadier Squad

The Grenadier is a good all-purpose unit. It's effective against infantry, vehicles and structures. You can also use him to clear captured civilian structures. 5-6 units per squad.

s

Harvester

This armor-plated vehicle seeks out and scoops up raw Tiberium, then transports it to Refineries for processing. It is slow and unwieldy and will need to be protected. Its good points are that it can take a beating before being destroyed and it is proficient at crushing enemy infantry. It also has a little machine gun to defend itself.

s

Juggernaut

The Juggernaut's role is to provide long-range support fire (with help of sniper spotters), but also to engage in close-range fighting. The Juggernaut can soften up enemy fortifications from a very long range but suffers from a slow rate of fire and walking speed.

s

Mammoth Tank

Being armed with dual cannons and missile launchers, the Mammoth Tank has exceptional firepower. Futhermore, the standard cannons can be replaced with very powerful railguns through an upgrade. All these weapons help compensate for Mammoth's lack of speed and mobility.

s

Missile Squad

These infantry units are slower and easier to kill than other infantry, but can tear through armor faster than any other infantry unit. Their major advantage is the ability to attack airborne units. Most effective as a support unit in diverse groups. Two units per squad.

s

Mobile Construction Vehicle (MCV)

The mobile construction vehicle lets you search for suitable base sites. Once one is found, you can convert the MCV into a full service Construction Yard and use it to build other structures. Since this vehicle is slow, unarmed, and expensive, you will want to keep it well guarded with other units.

s

Orca

Heavier and better armored than the Firehawk, the Orca trades speed for firepower. It is ideal for softening up ground defenses during the beginning of a base assault. Orcas can tag enemy units with sensor pods that allow you to track the enemy unit as it moves around.

s

Pitbull

The Pitbull jeep is a fast, lightly armored scout unit. It is armed with a turret, but can be upgraded with rocket launchers. An ideal unit for scouting in the early game.

s

Predator Tank

The Predator is a lighter version of the Mammoth Tank. It is faster, has lighter armor and a single cannon. Like it's stronger partner Mammoth Tank, it can be upgraded with a railgun.

s

Riflemen Squad

This is the standard GDI infantry unit. It is the equivalent of a minigunner from traditional C&C.

s

Rig

This robotic vehicle is capable of repairing damaged vehicles on the battlefield. Placing this unit in guard mode should enable it to automatically repair any vehicles in its immediate vicinity, but also to use as a support unit, being equipped with AA, anti-infantry, and anti-armor capabilities..

s

Sniper Team

The Sniper Team consists of two units: the sniper and his spotter. The sniper is highly effective against lowe-numbered infantry units, while his spotter can be used to call in an artillery strike from Juggernauts.

s

Zone Trooper

Unlike normal infantry, Zone Troopers can walk through Tiberium fields without fear of getting harmed. They wear a massive protective suit equipped with a jumpjet pack. Can be upgraded with a railgun.

s

V35 Ox

This is an aerial transport unit. Many units can call it for a quick pick-up.
